KONOS Timelines

The KONOS method of studying integrated subjects in units with a character trait focus has students studying Samuel and Helen Keller at the same time. The KONOS timeline gives students an exact visual picture of the time period for each character.

Few parents realize that Martin Luther lived at the same time as Christopher Columbus and Leonardo da Vinci, or that Squanto lived at the same time as Shakespeare. Art history, English history, church history and world history visually converge on the timeline.

There are timeline sets to go with each of the three KONOS volumes, as well as each of the boxed units. As a person is studied, the timeline figure is cut out and placed on the lines in the proper century, one person at a time, in blocks of history:

As an example, the Patriarch Period (Bible timeline), and Explorers Period (Vol. II timeline), use colorful, memorable symbols (like Luther nailing his 95 theses to the door, Bathsheba in a bathtub, Columbus holding a telescope, flag, and map, and Leonardo holding the Mona Lisa and paint brush. The KONOS timeline will help the youngest to the oldest learn and know history!

KONOS gives you two choices for a timeline:

  1. Wall Chart: a new 54" x 75" vinyl plastic wall chart with blue century lines printed on durable white vinyl. Hangs with three push pins.

  2. Century Lines: only these are laminated strips with dates printed on them from 2099BC to 2099AD. These strips are cut apart and permanently mounted on a wall (7' x 7' space needed). No characters are included in this set of lines.
